In the tuf­t­ing pro­cess its­elf, yarn is shot through the under­si­de of a stret­ched base using a spe­cial hand-tuf­t­ing gun and later sea­led from the under­si­de with natu­ral latex. Tuf­t­ing offers far grea­ter crea­ti­ve free­dom com­pared to tra­di­tio­nal wea­ving methods. The pos­si­bi­li­ties are vir­tual­ly limitless.

Hand-woven rugs are still pro­du­ced on tra­di­tio­nal looms by expe­ri­en­ced wea­vers. This time-hono­red wea­ving tech­ni­que remains the most sus­tainable form in terms of resour­ce effi­ci­en­cy. Due to the limi­t­ed num­ber of shafts, the size of pos­si­ble pat­terns is rest­ric­ted. Becau­se of the­se design limi­ta­ti­ons, we do not use this method.

Ethics and envi­ron­men­tal awa­re­ness are at the core of our phi­lo­so­phy.
